Jason Willett of Jonesboro, the former Arkansas Democratic Party chair, has sued a Washington, D.C. Hyatt for having him arrested last year following an argument over a bar tab. Willett, who has sued in D.C. Superior Court for $250,000, apparently tried to charge drinks to his room, the bartender didn’t believe he was a guest and things escalated. Before it was over, Willett spent a night in jail.

The story is going all over, which makes you wonder a bit about the wisdom of suing to get your reputation back. It started with the Washington Business Journal, and has been picked up any number of other places, including the Washington Post. He told Arkansas Business he had no comment, given the pending lawsuit.
