Tim Hudson

Arkansas State University-Jonesboro officially announced today Dr. Tim Hudson as its new chancellor. Hudson comes from Texas Tech, where he’s served as vice chancellor since 2011. Hudson went to undergrad and graduate school at Southern Miss. and received his PhD in geography at Clark University.

UPDATE: According to an ASU spokesperson, Hudson will make $275,000 per year according to his three year contract. He’ll live in the chancellor’s residence.

Hudson will begin at ASU on May 1.

In a news release, he said:

“I am a big believer in synergy, the notion that collectively we are smarter and make better decisions than any one of us. This is a bedrock idea of academic management, we call it ‘shared governance’ — we need input from everyone and to respect a divergence of opinions if we are to take ASU to the next level.”
