Edward Armstrong-Rial, attorney for the Metropolitan Housing Alliance, reports as promised yesterday on his review of a recording of the special meeting Thursday morning at which the agency board of commissioners met in executive session and then took action related to executive director Shelly Ehenger.

Armstrong-Rial said the commission, with all members but Brad Walker present, voted unanimously to:

* Investigate an employee complaint against Ehenger.

* Suspend Ehenger with pay pending completion of the investigation.

* Appoint Ron Hooks as interim director.

No information was released in public about the nature of the complaint.

The commission, appointed by the Little Rock Board of Directors, oversees what is otherwise an independent agency that runs federally financed housing projects and programs in the area. My sources indicate some strong disagreement among agency employees on management decisions.
