The city of Little Rock says Waste Management is still working to catch up on recycling pickups disrupted by the winter storm and holiday schedules. It announced:

Waste Management continues to catch up with curb side recycling pick ups after the Christmas storm. They ask that residents please leave recycling containers on the curb until crews can get to them. Also, WM crews have been instructed to pick up overflow materials that are set beside the cart.

And speaking of storm cleanup, this also from the city:

The aftermath of the Christmas Storm of 2012 is still apparent in many Little Rock neighborhoods. Many fallen trees and branches remain on the ground. The City of Little Rock’s solid waste crews are working hard to collect as much as possible. Residents who would like to report storm damage debris may do so by either calling 3-1-1 or sending a request on-line. Go to www.LittleRock.org and click on the 3-1-1 logo on the upper right side of the home page. These trees, limbs and bushes will be brought to the Little Rock Landfill and eventually be made into mulch.

The Little Rock Landfill at 10801 Ironton Cutoff is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM —4:00 PM.

For our customers’ convenience, the Little Rock Landfill is also open on selected Saturdays through out the year — including this Saturday from 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Garbage, yard waste, and construction and demolition debris, may be brought to the landfill for a fee.

Contact the Landfill Scale House at (501) 888-5806 for information and disposal fees.
