I got a tip the other day that Jeff Long, University of Arkansas athletic director, wants the Razorback Foundation to buy a new jet. A particularly expensive one.
The Razorback Foundation, though financed heavily by premium charges on sales to sporting events at the public’s university, doesn’t consider itself open to inspection.
So I sent a question to Long through Kevin Trainor, associate athletic director. His response so far:
The Razorback Foundation is looking into potential purchase of aircraft to replace a 1988 Beechjet 400. It is my understanding that they are still in the process of looking at different models and gathering information regarding potential cost. After reviewing the information, including cost, when available, Jeff Long will forward any recommendation the athletic department may have to the Razorback Foundation for consideration.
