From the State Police:

Arkansas State Troopers are still on the scene of a six vehicle crash in the eastbound lane of I-40 at the 199 mile marker. One fatality has been confirmed and two individuals with injuries have been transported to area hospitals.

The crash scene involves five commercial carrier (tractor-trailer) truck and one passenger mini-van.

The eastbound lane of the construction zone has been closed since 10:15 this morning. Removing the wrecked vehicles from the single lane is expected to continue through 3 or 4 PM.

Traffic is being diverted onto U.S. Highway 70 (at Hazen and Biscoe).
