A 16-year-old Ft. Smith boy was wounded in the shoulder yesterday by a friend who shot him with a .40 caliber pistol while they were playing a “zombie game” with another teen. The shooter went and got the gun from his mother’s bedroom after the victim pointed a bow and arrow at him. The shooter, who told police he’d previously played with the handgun, thought the pistol was unloaded.

The injured boy was taken to a local hospital, and is expected to recover. No charges have been filed.
