Sgt. Cassandra Davis of the Little Rock Police Department reports:

On 6/30/13 officers were flagged down at 12th & Woodrow by an individual who said that he had just been robbed and shot. The victim was identified as Lawrence Thomas, b/m, 9/22/73 of 4101 Sam Peck Road. Mr. Thomas was shot in the leg and transported to an area hospital for treatment. Thomas was treated for his wound and released from the hospital. On July 15th Thomas returned to the hospital with complications from the gunshot wound. On July 16th Mr. Thomas died while in the hospital. The medical examiner has ruled Mr. Thomas’s death a homicide.

Thomas told police at the time that he was shot in struggle with a man to whom he’d given a ride after he tried to rob him.
