A reader last night asked what happened to the thread on the Rachel Maddow Show Thursday night that had an extensive segment on the ExxonMobil pipeline break in Mayflower.

I had to take the item off-line because of problems embedding the video. We never resolved the technical issue.

So, here’s a link to the video if you’d like to see it.

Exxon profits are featured prominently, along with residents affected by the spill and Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, who’s sued ExxonMobil in federal court. There is no safe level of benzene in your living room, McDaniel said in one memorable quote. He also said ExxonMobil had been “cold-hearted’ in dealing with residents.

Arkansas Times coverage by Sam Eifling and other staffers and  Elizabeth McGowan of our project partner Inside Climate News also was prominently mentioned. Our cover story this week follows the pipeline over its course in Arkansas and turns up a lot of interesting facts about location and maintenance of the line and what residents think about it.

Maddow said the Times’ work should be nominated for a Pulitzer. A kind word is always appreciated. Now if we could just get Republican Rep. Tim Griffin to include the Arkansas Blog on his news release list.
