Remember the great Pulaski Tech Culinary and Hospitality Management Institute debate? Some city leaders wanted it located on Main Street. The college decided to stick with a plan to build it on its campus on Interstate 30 in Southwest Little Rock.

I spoke with someone last week whose recent high school graduate daughter was heading to this program. Lots of jobs and benefits in the hospitality business. It was a sight in New Orleans over the weekend for me to be standing on Canal Street and watching the street cars unload uniformed workers heading to the hotels and restaurants in the French Quarter for a day’s work. That sight also made me appreciate public transit.
