On an otherwise slow morning, my attention was caught by Twitter notes on the predicted release tomorrow of two members of the jailed Russian punk group Pussy Riot under a new amnesty act.

Complicated matters of oppressive Russian government and politics aside, there’s a small matter of local interest.

Will the state’s daily newspaper honor the historic release by  restoring the name of the group in the news account? A headline seems too much to ask.

A review of the Democrat-Gazette’s archives shows the name slipped into newspaper accounts in August and May of 2012, but not since then. Nashville Pussy also made an appearance in D-G pages in 2011.
