* LIBERTARIAN CANDIDATE: Bobby Tullis, a former state representative from Mineral Springs, says he’ll seek the Libertarian Party nomination to run for state treasurer. He got 32 percent of the vote as a Green candidate for the office in 2010 against incumbent Democrat Martha Shoffner, who’s since resigned. A couple of Republicans, Dennis Milligan and Duncan Baird, have declared for the race.

* HOMICIDE ARREST: The Pulaski sheriff’s office arrest Melissa Stearns, 33, on a first-degree murder charge for fatally stabbing Herschel Johnson, 63, at 15500 Minton Road, off Lawson Road in western Little Rock. Stearns told deputies she’d been arguing Saturday night with Johnson before the stabbing.
