He noted Cotton’s support of fundamental changes in Medicare that would eventually raise the eligiblity age to 70 and turn it into a voucher system, rather than a single-payer health coverage system. Pryor said he’d continue to fight efforts to fight privatization of Medicare. From the Pryor release:
George Hozendorf, reflected on his own Medicare experience, “If it wasn’t for Medicare when my wife became ill several years ago I’d be bankrupt today and the idea of Tom Cotton and his Washington interests wanting to voucher, or put vouchers on Medicare, or privatize it is just in my opinion insane. We have a lot of seniors here in Arkansas that depend on this. It would be a choice between drugs, housing, or food, and guess what food’s going to come first. In my opinion it’s insane to do this and I appreciate what Senator Pryor is doing to protect our Medicare and protect our elderly citizens. ”
Pryor said he would introduce legislation to protect seniors from changes Cotton has supported. Cotton has claimed its Pryor who wants to cut Medicare.
Pryor lost a small web battle for the day. The photo shows him with a sign touting a website meant to criticize Cotton as having the url “therealtomcottonrecord.com” It’s actually the realcottonrecord.com. Cotton took up the erroneous name Pryor showed on his sign as his own. The real thing below.
