Funeral services for Broadway actor, musician and former Philander Smith choral director Lawrence Hamilton will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Freeman Chapel, 321 M.L. King Drive, in Ashdown. 

Hamilton, 59, died April 3 in New York City after cardiac bypass surgery, according to his.

There will be a wake the evening before, from 5-7 p.m., at the Oscar Hamilton Elementary School, 311 W. 10th Ave., in Foreman, where Hamilton was born. Oscar Hamilton was Lawrence Hamilton’s father.

A memorial service is being planned in New York City.
