An electrical fire damaged the sauna and portions of the locker rooms at the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center in War Memorial Park this morning. No one was in the building and the fire was quickly contained, Truman Tolefree, parks and recreation director, said.

The fitness center will be closed until the LRFD completes its investigation and the building has been cleaned up. Tolefree said members will be credited for the days the fitness center is closed. “Our staff is working to get the Jim Dailey Fitness & Aquatic Center reopened to the public as quickly as possible,” Tolefree said.
