A Talk Business/Hendrix poll on Republican primary races starts with the race for attorney general and a finding that 60 percent are undecided. Probably because they’ve never heard of David Sterling (21 percent for him, probably thanks to huge recemt ad buy from a shadowy right-wing 501c4); Patricia Nation (10 — nation is a familiar word), and Leslie Rutledge (9).
Sounds like a runoff. It makes a deep-pocketed group’s spending — with zero accountability on its finances — a significant factor. If you haven’t seen the American Future Fund’s ads for David Sterling you should. They are as big a mockery of the notion that such ads are not political advocacy as you could hope to see. Slimy stuff. Just the thing to recommend election of somebody who’s supposed to uphold the law. Sterling has already made it clear — as have the other Republicans, frankly — that they have no respect for federal law.
Nate Steel. Remember that name.
