Perusing the agenda for this week’s Capitol Zoning District Commission I note the happy unanimity of staff and advisory committees on a proposal to build a chicken coop behind a historic house at 1616 Spring Street.

Chicken farmer Nate Bell, the bumptious Mena Republican, should be happy about this news. You’ll recall he tried to demolish the CZDC in the 2013 legislature as retribution for its strict  enforcement of fence-building standards.

The house is owned by Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. It’s used by the Little Rock Preparatory Academy, which wants a chicken coop as part of its education program.
