Sixteen one- and two-bedroom apartments are being built at 13th and Louisiana, a block west of what is now a heartily reviving South Main commercial strip. Framing has begun and work should be finished in early 2015.

The South Village Apartments at Quapaw are a $2 million project of Stewart Real Estate Development, led by retired banker Charles O. Stewart. He said in a release:

”I have always loved the Governor’s Mansion District of Little Rock. South Village will help to meet the need for additional living units in the downtown area, while retaining the architectural integrity of this historic part of our city. I am pleased and excited to be a part of the transformation and rebirth of downtown Little Rock,” Stewart said.

Each unit will have a washer and dryer, walk-in closets, keyless entries, secured parking and other amenities.
