The New York Times describes here how Chelsea Clinton is earning $75,000 for speeches, following in the footsteps of her parents, and contributing the money to the family foundation.
The article notes that: 1) Chelsea Clinton’s fees go to the charitable work of the family foundation, of which she is an officer; 2) former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s university speaking fees also are going to the foundation; 3) despite complaints that taxpayer-supported colleges have paid fees to Mrs. Clinton, recent appearances were funded by private donors; 4) many of the groups that pay the speakers have experienced good fund-raising thanks to the pulling power of the speakers.
Bill Clinton has also been donating portions of his fees to the foundation in the interest of building an endowment.
The Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock is also one of projects supported by the foundation
