The Little Rock Police Department is investigating a case in which a 20-year-old woman said she was kidnapped from a downtown Little Rock bank and taken to a Little Rock apartment complex where she said she was held overnight and raped. KLRT has details.
The woman went to the St. Vincent’s Infirmary emergency room on Wednesday, where she told hospital staff that she had been sexually assaulted. After police responded, she told officers that she had been at the Centennial Bank at 718 S. Broadway around 9 a.m. on Tuesday when she was kidnapped, forced into a taxi cab and taken to an apartment at 6115 W. Markham Street. Once there, she told police, she was held captive and raped by a man with a tattoo under one eye. The next day, she said, she was able to escape and make her way to the hospital.
Police arrested Latarian Darnell Arnold, 32, at the apartment building on Wednesday. He has since been charged with rape, possession of firearms by certain persons and kidnapping. He currently being held in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
According to documents on file with the Pulaski County Clerk’s office, Arnold had previously plead guilty to second-degree battery, robbery and theft of property in Sept. 2009.
