The Arkansas Supreme Court this morning denied Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel‘s motion to stay the case challenging the state’s constitutional ban on gay marriage. The Court denied it without comment.
McDaniel had asked the court to hold off on hearing the case until the U.S. Supreme Court rules in challenges to gay marriage bans in other states. Earlier this week, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear appeals from five states where gay marriage bans had been overturned by lower courts, in effect bringing marriage equality to those states.
