Arkansas Community Organizations has announced endorsements in City Board races. I pass them along because at the ward level grassroots groups can have real impact, see ACO’s support of winner Jim Ross in the recent Little Rock School Board race.

The organization endorsed Robert Webb over incumbent Erma Hendrix in Ward 1; incumbent Director Ken Richardson in Ward 2; Kathy Webb for the open Ward 3 seat, and Sandy Becker for Ward 6, over incumbent Doris Wright. The group commented:

“Ken Richardson has often been the only voice for our community on the city board. He deserves a third term. Robert Webb has worked with ACO on many issues including the successful campaign to stop the Tech Park from destroying central Little Rock neighborhoods. Kathy Webb has an outstanding record in the state legislature and a strong commitment to serving all people in the city. Sandy Becker has been active in the John Barrow neighborhood and is committed to representing all of the communities in Ward 6. By electing these four candidates to the board, we can help our city move in a more positive and inclusive direction,” said ACO president Donna Massey.
