The Center for Public Integrity reports that federal candidates are already raising money, including a number with no opponents in 2016.
U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton is being credited with being the first federal candidate to circulate a fund-raising solicitation after the Nov. 4 election, with an invite Nov. 5 to an event at Johnny’s Half Shell in Washington last Thursday.

Here’s a picture of the invite: $500 minimum contribution sought. A PAC could “host” for a mere $5,000.
The event was styled as a “debt retirement event.” We’d earlier mentioned his e-mail solicitation saying he needed $176,000 to close out his winning campaign over Mark Pryor.
