Mike Huckabee’s indignation about Beyonce in his new “book” continues to pay big publicity for him, though a great deal of the media attention continues to be critical.
Vox reports on his interview with People, in which he deplores the Obamas for encouraging their admiration of Beyonce. Said Huckabee:
I don’t understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything — how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they’re kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things — and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé, who has sort of a regular key to the door” of the White House.
Huckabee follows a well-trod Fox News path beaten by Bill O’Reilly (he the Loofah King) about the supposed awful laciviousness of Beyonce. Huck wonders if the Obamas have seen her perform or heard her song lyrics. Huckabee clearly has. And studied them closely.
Vox explained before what Huckabee gets wrong about Beyonce.
Others have noted that Huckabee, upset about Beyonce lyrics, performed on national TV with Ted Nugent when he sang “Cat Scratch Fever,”
Huckabee strummed along as Nugent sang:
I make the pussy purr with
The stroke of my hand
They know they gettin’ it from me
They know just where to go
When they need their lovin man
They know I do it for free
Crooks and Liars hits Huckabee even harder for having the nerve to judge parenting of others.
