Oops. Sorry. Forget to get out the list of freebies for legislations — still coming freely despite Amendment 94’s ban on gifts to legislators — in time for breakfast.
Today’s free hog sloppings:
BREAKFAST — 7:30-9 a.m., Capitol Rotunda, hosted by McDonald’s.
LUNCH — 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Association of Arkansas Counties Building, the Association of Arkansas Counties. This is the county government lobby, powered by tax dollars.
LUNCH — 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Apt. 13, Capitol Square Apartments, Arkansas Health Care Association. This is the nursing home lobby. Under the pretext of this being an alleged scheduled event for all legislators, it is feeding lunch and cocktails almost daily out of this apartment. It should be an outrage that this could be blithely styled as a scheduled activity for all legislators. If we had an Ethics Commission worthy of the name.
LUNCH — 11:30 a.m.- 1 p.m., Capitol Hill Building, Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce, prepared by the chefs of the Crescent Hotel and the Basin Park Hotel.
COCKTAIL HOUR — 5 to 7 p.m., Next Level Events, Crittenden County Chambers of Commerce.
COCKTAIL HOUR — 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Capitol Hill Apartments, Association of Arkansas Development Organizations (AADO). This is an umbrella group for a number of agencies supported by tax dollars.
ALSO: There’s one of those “scheduled activities” to which only a committee is invited, also believed to be legal under the legislature’s expansive keep-the-swill-coming policy.
DINNER: 6:30 p.m., Sims Bar-B-Que, 2415 Broadway, Balanced Energy Arkansas and the Electric Co-ops
