Carman McBride
, an environmental and spatial technology facilitator for grades 3-5 at Roberts Elementary in Little Rock, is this year’s Arkansas winner of the Milken Educator award, a $25,000 prize.

She previously taught fourth grade in Texarkana and was cited for her student’s test scores and her community work.

The Education Department said McBride earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University in Texarkana, Texas and is currently working on a master’s in education at Henderson State University.
