Beebe’s law license has been inactive since June 13, 2007. Why pay bar dues when you’re not practicing? Beebe took office in January 2007 for an eight-year run as governor and his previous payment expired that year.

The state Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct has been scrambling this week to get enough votes together in the icy weather to reactivate Beebe’s law license. Shouldn’t be a problem.
