Maumelle police today charged Daniel Cecil, 43, of Maumelle with two counts of attempted murder and arson for allegedly stabbing his wife and then setting their house at 2 Prince Drive on fire last Saturday evening. His wife’s six-year-old daughter — his stepdaughter — was in the house at the time, but wasn’t injured, police said.

The suspect had left by the time officers arrived. They found a woman with a wounded left forearm. The house was destroyed.
