Jacksonville police are reporting a shooting with injury this morning outside the gates of the Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Police Chief Kenny Boyd tells KTHV the incident occurred at around 9:20 a.m., and base security has responded. Other details on the incident are scarce at this point, but we’ll have more as it becomes available. 


UPDATE, 3:03 p.m.: The Associated Press and other outlets are reporting that a man with a rifle was shot and wounded after attempting to enter LRAFB. The man, a civilian, blew past the front gate in his SUV and exited the vehicle with a rifle. The man was hospitalized and is in critical condition. One bystander was also injured.
