Early voting, though light, shows deep support for a Little Rock library tax that would drop the rate by a tenth of a mill but extend the payout on refinanced bonds by four years to raise money for construction and equipment.
The early and absentee vote favored the proposal 569-174 or a 76-24 percentage split.
UPDATE: With 46 of 70 precincts counted, the vote margin has increased to 83.7 percent to 16.2 percent of almost 2,800 votes cast. More than 127,000 voters were eligible.
