The Human Rights Campaign reports on the announcement that Apple, Dow Chemical and Levi Strauss support a federal law guaranteeing non-discrimination in employment for LGBT Americans
Arkansas’s governor, Asa Hutchinson, and its Republican-controlled legislature have specifically rejected such employment protection in Arkansas and have even approved a law attempting to prevent local governments from providing such protection.
Arkansas, in short, officially believes and practices discrimination against gay people. Gov. Hutchinson thinks it’s good for economic development, else wouldn’t he support a change in policy or law? Perhaps he should visit Apple sometime.
