The sheriff’s office says two men are hospitalized in critical condition with gunshot wounds following a shootout during a robbery last night at 145th Street Liquor Store in southern Pulaski County.
When deputies arrived about 9:20 p.m. they found one man behind the counter with a gunshot wound to his head and another man in a back room with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Cash was strewn on the counter and floor behind the counter.
The sheriff has identified Jodeci Allen, 23, of North Little Rock as a suspect in the shooting and Charles Tatum, 76, an employee of the liquor store, as the other person wounded. Their wounds, described as critical, were said to be not life threatening.
Tatum, the owner, and Allen exchanged gunfire during the robbery attempt, the sheriff’s office said.
Allen will be charged with robbery, at a minimum, the sheriff’s office said.
