Well, there’s one down. Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is suspending his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, according to multiple news sources.

Perry, once a darling of the GOP, struggled to gain any traction in an overcrowded field. He never overcame the pall cast by a memorably disappointing performance in the 2012 presidential race.
