Republican Rep. Julie Mayberry of East End, her husband, former Rep. Andy Mayberry, and a daycare operator have sued to stop the issuance of a liquor store permit on Arch Street Pike in East End.
They contend procedural flaws in the application and argue that the liquor store couldn’t be adequately policed and is opposed by local residents. They also claim daycare centers should be considered schools and two daycare centers put the store in violation of rules about proximity to schools.
