Another promising Democratic candidate has emerged to take on a Republican state representative.
Richard Bright, an Arkadelphia lawyer, former deputy prosecutor and current member of the Clark County Quorum Court, has announced as a candidate for House District 18, current held by one of the most retrograde members of the House, Richard Womack (he endorsed Curtis Coleman for governor if that gives you a clue and also this). The district extends into Garland, Hot Spring and Dallas counties, areas where Hutchinson ran well to be re-elected in 2014.
Is this from his news release a comment on the current one-way street of Arkansas politics?
Bright also believes there should be accountability and responsible leadership in this position. “My dad was a longtime school administrator and taught me the difference between right and wrong and giving all sides equal opportunity to discuss their concerns,” said Bright. “I will deliver those same principles representing District 18.”
