The Capitol Zoning District Commission voted Thursday night 6-1 (with 2 members recusing) to deny a request by Patrick and Ida Cowan for after-the-fact approval of a four-feet wrought iron fence around their historic home at Scott and Daisy Bates.
This is the latest chapter in a four-year battle over a fence that exceeds guidelines that call for a 40-inch limit on the fence. The issue now moves back to Circuit Court, where the Commission has a request pending for an order from Judge Chris Piazza that the fence be removed.
