Sen. Tom Cotton told Roby Brock of Talk Business that he is not ready to endorse anyone for president yet and has no timetable to do so. He said he would support the eventual Republican nominee.

Marco Rubio‘s neocon blustering seems like a fit for Cotton. But Cotton has good reasons to stay neutral as long as he can. Depending on who wins, he may have an outside chance as a VP pick. And he wants to avoid the Ted Cruz trap of making enemies within the GOP. Cotton’s brand is that he’s just as extreme as Cruz, but he’s a good political soldier. No reason to take sides in intra-party squabbles.

Congressmen Rick Crawford and Steve Womack and Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin announced today that they were endorsing Rubio.

Brock also reports that Tom Cotton has grown a beard. Looks good. Not as good as mine. But good.
