Max here briefly. I checked e-mail and found multiple notes on news that Keith Moyer, the last editor of the Arkansas Gazette before Gannett sold the newspaper to Walter Hussman, will join his friend and  former Gazette publisher Craig Moon, at the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The blog has been keeping up with the saga in Las Vegas, where casino mogul Sheldon Adelson has paid a premium price to control the dominant media voice in Nevada, a newspaper once owned by the Stephens financial empire in Little Rock. The reviews so far haven’t been good about whether Adelson will be a positive influence journalistically.

Here’s Poynter on the news.

Moyer has been teaching at the University of Minnesota after stints in top jobs at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and Fresno Bee following the Gazette’s closure more than 24 years ago.
