The Little Rock Police Department says detectives have arrested another suspect in the murder of a Southwest Little Rock woman who was shot in her driveway on Jan. 31 as she held her two year old child.
Darrell Keith Dixon, 15, was arrested today in connection with the murder, with a release from the LRPD saying detectives developed him as a suspect during the investigation. He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Center on several charges including aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, theft of property and capital murder.
Eunice Lopez, 27, was found shot in her driveway at 8401 Keats Drive on the morning of Jan. 31. She was later taken to UAMS, where she died. Her two year old child, which she was holding in her arms when she was shot, was unharmed. Witnesses told investigators that several juvenile suspects had approached Lopez and attempted to snatch her purse, with one of them shooting her once with a handgun after her purse strap apparently caught on her shoulder.
Kevin William Jr., 15, and Ramale Collier, 18, were previously arrested in connection to the murder, and are currently being held at the Pulaski County Jail on the same charges as Dixon. The LRPD says that they don’t anticipate making any more arrests in the case.
