Members of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission voted unanimously today to name Jeff Crow the agency’s new director.
Crow, of Bismarck, has been deputy director chief of staff since 2014. He started his career at Game and Fish in 1986 as a wildlife officer, but left in 1996 to work for the Arkansas State Police. He retired from the ASP in 2011 and began working at the Criminal Justice Institute. He returned to Game and Fish in 2012 to head up its law enforcement division, and was made deputy director in 2013.
He replaces Mike Knoedl, a 31-year employee of Game and Fish who will retire this July after nearly five years as director. Others who applied for the job were Assistant Deputy Director Ricky Chastain and agency counsel Jim Goodhart. The agency did not conduct a national search.
