Rep. Jana Della Rosa, a Rogers Republican, today introduced her bill to appropriate $750,000 to pay for an online campaign finance reporting system for the secretary of state’s office.

The bill only appropriates money. I believe other law changes would be necessary to require the filing. Many legislators resist. Online filing would enhance transparency and allow ready study of data for special interest influence. You can imagine why some would not like that.

The bill should be considered in Joint Budget Committee tomorrow.
