KARK is reporting on Twitter that two people were killed in a crash bout 3:50 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 430 southbound on the Arkansas River bridge. The fiery wreck closed the traffic lanes for a period this morning. The lanes have reopened.

UPDATE: The State Police said an as yet unidentified woman was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-430 in a 1998 Buick when she collided head-on with a southbound Ford and both vehicles caught fire. Both drivers were killed.

The driver of the Ford has been identified as Gary Digiuseppe, 60, of Maumelle. He was a morning newscaster for KARN Radio and also did newscasts for the Arkansas Radio Network, plus free-lance writing for agricultural publications.

UPDATE: The driver of the wrong-way car has been identified as Felecia Stevenson, 28, of Little Rock. The police report gives no indication how she came to be in the wrong lane. A Facebook page for the apparent victim reflects comments about her death.  She had three children and worked multiple shifts, some as long as 16 hours, including overnight, and sometimes nine days running, at a fast-food restaurant.
