Fine weather and a robust crowd marked the second day of the reincarnation of Riverfest as a two-day mostly music event (with concessions), rather than a Memorial Day-weekend three-day event built initially around daytime kids’ activities.

Whatever the weather and music reviews, the bottom line is the bottom line: Paid attendance, plus concession revenue, minus event costs. No word on that yet. Getting people accustomed to the change is also a process that could take time.

The attendance was estimated Saturday at 62,000. If all paid, even at the $37.50 advance price, that’s $2 million or so, not counting concession receipts. Sunday’s crowd would have included many returnees, but presumably additional tickets were sold at $40, reduced from the original gate price of $50.
