Arkansas Children’s Hospital last night announced its campaign to raise $70 million for its planned children’s hospital in Springdale, Arkansas Business reports

Arkansas Children’s Northwest is slated to open in January of 2018. The 24-bed hospital will be on I-49 between Don Tyson Parkway and Highway 412. It will include an emergency department and five operating rooms. ACH predicts that the 233,613-square-feet facility will provide care for 200,000 children.

The Care Close to Home campaign has already secured commitments totaling $53 million toward its goal, said Marcy Doderer, president and CEO of Arkansas Children’s.

“We will raise the remaining dollars over the next several years,” she said.

That includes a $15 million donation from the Tyson family. Other major donors include Walmart ($8 million) and J.B. Hunt ($5 million).
