Lawrence Ibekwe, 24, was shot to death shortly after midnight last night in his duplex at 10915 Mara Lynn in western Little Rock.

Police said they found Ibekwe’s body in the doorway of his home when responding to a shooting report. According to Matthew Alvis, 25, who was at the scene, he’d been with Ibekwe when two men came to the residence to buy drugs. After they entered, one pulled a gun and ordered Ibekwe to lie on the floor.  The second man ran to the back of the residence. Alvis said Ibekwe refused to lie down and struggled with the gunman, who fired multiple shots before fleeing, along with his companion.
