Secretary of State Mark Martin has scheduled a meeting Sept. 13 by the Capitol Arts and Grounds Commission to consider monuments proposed for the Capitol — a Ten Commandments monument authorized by the legislature and a Satanic Temple proposal. Others may emerge. The time is 1:30 p.m. in the Old Supreme Courtroom at the Capitol.

From Arkansas Business by AP: Martin has also set up a hot line for people to call about the proposals. I’ll give the number as soon as I hear back from Martin’s office. UPDATE: That phone is  501-683-6589.

Various have promised a lawsuit if only a Ten Commandments monument is approved, which seems the likeliest outcome. The Commission could decide that we have enough monuments.

Draft agenda of the meeting indicates a review of the two pending proposals and then selection of a subcommittee to further study the proposals.
