The Little Rock police said today they’d arrested Michael Gardner, 44, on a capital murder charge in the May 28 slaying of Gwenda Moorman, 62, of 3914 W. 11th Street.

Her body was found about 6:40 p.. that day in her kitchen. She was found by officers responding to a call about a possible burglary. The front door was open when they arrived.

Police didn’t indicate what led them to issue the warrant. But Gardner has been in custody since the day after the slaying. on a long list of robbery, theft, sexual assault and kidnapping charges. He is also listed as a parole violator.
