A spate of new polls indicates, from my perspective a tightening race for president. CNN puts Trump up 2 among “likely voters.” NBC has Clinton up 4.

Interesting is new 50-state polling from the Washington Post.

With nine weeks until Election Day, Donald Trump is within striking distance in the Upper Midwest, but Hillary Clinton’s strength in many battlegrounds and some traditional Republican strongholds gives her a big electoral college advantage, according to a 50-state Washington Post-SurveyMonkey poll.

Clinton enjoys an edge among college-educated voters, traditionally a Republican strength. But her margin is narrowing and battleground states have tightened.

Trump’s disaffection among minority voters is most evident in Texas, virtually a dead heat between the candidates.

And what, you ask about Arkansas?

Clinton 41

No opinion 5.

Hey, could be worse. President Obama got 37 percent in Arkansas in 2012.
