Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has joined 35 other states in a federal antitrust lawsuit in Pennsylvania that says a maker of a drug prescribed for opioid addiction has conspired to protect the price of its drug by blocking generic competitors from the market.
The suit is against the makers of Suboxone. A company now known as Indivior is accused of conspiring with MonoSol Rx to switch the drug from a tablet to a film in order to delay generic alternatives from reaching the market.
A departure from Rutledge’s normal day’s work: Against equal rights for sexual minorities; against women’s medical rights; against better overtime pay; against clean air; against separation of church and state; against gun safety; for voter suppression; for payday lenders, and probably a few I’ve forgotten.
