Donald Trump has proclaimed that he has a health care plan coming that will cover everyone — yes, UNIVERSAL COVERAGE — and have lower deductible payments. More coverage for less, he suggests, with plenty of pain for Big Pharma in tough negotiating.

It reminds me of nothing so much as those Free Beer Tomorrow signs in taverns.

I’m not so sure it couldn’t be delivered by a single-payer insurance system, through, say, universal Medicare.

I am pretty sure Trump couldn’t pass that in Congress, however. So all the smart guys are saying Trump is full of it, posturing as usual, and this will come to nothing. Nothing except those who love Trump will love him all the more and blame his shortcomings on anything but Trump.
